I believe this was the second project for my Two-Dimensional Design course. I forgot to take a picture before I turned it in, so it's been on display at Brick City. I suppose I could have taken a picture in between classes, but oh well.
The project was about symmetry and we focused on the four main types of symmetry seen in art: Symmetry
(top left), Approximate Symmetry
(top right), Asymmetry
(bottom left, my favorite
) and Radial Symmetry
(bottom right). He told us to try to use an ongoing theme for the entire piece and I figured trees would be the easiest... It wasn't until after
I started the project that Josh pointed out the play on words seen in the title.
It was a cut and paste piece using colored card stock and rubber cement on 6 x 6" Bristol board squares with all four mounted on black poster board. I had fun doing it and have added it to my portfolio
