I believe this was the second project for my Two-Dimensional Design course. I forgot to take a picture before I turned it in, so it's been on display at Brick City. I suppose I could have taken a picture in between classes, but oh well.
The project was about symmetry and we focused on the four main types of symmetry seen in art: Symmetry (top left), Approximate Symmetry (top right), Asymmetry (bottom left, my favorite) and Radial Symmetry (bottom right). He told us to try to use an ongoing theme for the entire piece and I figured trees would be the easiest... It wasn't until after I started the project that Josh pointed out the play on words seen in the title.
It was a cut and paste piece using colored card stock and rubber cement on 6 x 6" Bristol board squares with all four mounted on black poster board. I had fun doing it and have added it to my portfolio .
Supplies: Colored Card Stock, Rubber Cement, Bristol Board, Black Poster Board Time: Approximately 5-10 hours
